Things to do in Prague

1.  Visit a Castle

Prague Castle (2020)

Prague Castle (2020)

This is probably the main attraction in Prague (besides #4). It was built in then 9th century and is currently the world’s largest ancient castle. You can visit for FREE. The first time I visited Prague I went on a castle tour with Good Prague Tours (€13). It was a great tour for information’s sake but not needed if you just want to look around the grounds for free. The view from the castle is AMAZING since it sits on a hill above the city.

There’s also another Castle that’s a 30/40 minute walk from Prague Castle on the East bank of the river called Vyšehrad. I was recommended by locals to visit this castle because there typically aren’t tourists in this area. I haven’t been, but you can check it out and let me know how it is.

2.  Drink Beer

The Czech Republic is the beer capital of the world. They consume more beer per capita than any other country in the world. Nine out of ten beers are made based off of their beer. In Prague you can get beer as cheap as $1 USD and the beers are quite large. My favorite is the Pilsner. If you really want more information about the history of beer in Prague, you can take a Beer Tour with Good Prague Tours (€17).

3.  Klementinum Library / Astrological Tower

Did you know that Prague is the home of the world’s most beautiful Library? You can do a tour of the Library and Astrological Tower for 300ck ($13USD). You can’t hangout in the actual library but you can take a few steps into the Library to take in the beauty of the space. It’s simply magical, in my opinion. The best part of visiting there is the view from the Astrological Tower! Make sure you go on a clear day so you can see the entire city. Thank me later for this one.

4.  Astrological Clock

If you visit Prague, it is mandatory to go check out the Astrological clock. The clock strikes every hour and you get to witness a little ancient puppet show (per-say). It’s totally FREE and you can just walk up to the front and see the clock strike. There will be a lot of people there but not too many that you can’t get up close to the clock. The show is about 1 to 2 minutes long, so you can watch it really quickly and then go about your day.

5.  Paint with Light

You guys know I love Airbnb Experiences. If you haven’t heard of them before it’s basically a platform on Airbnb where you can book activities while you are traveling. I found a cool activity while looking for a photographer in Prague. I booked the experience for $40 USD. I can’t explain the way Light Painting works but Pavel was kind enough to explain and teach me how to do everything in order to get these cool photos! I definitely recommend this experience as it was educational, unique, and fun. Check out the photo above.
